Angelina Jolie shocked Hollywood when she filed for divorce from Brad Pitt after only two years of marriage. And now, her father Jon Voight is exclusively revealing to Breaking Celebrity News all the details on the devastating split.

"I don't know much about it except it must be something serious," Voight told Breaking Celebrity News. "I just got the news and I'm concerned."

Although Jolie hasn't told her father what caused the split, he admitted he would find out when he "sees Angie and the children soon."

Jolie, 41, is seeking full physical custody of their six children, leaving Pitt, 52, with visitation rights.

"The priority is always the children," he explained. "I know she's always concerned about the children."

Despite the divorce, Voight, 77, believes the couple could remain amicable for their kids Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox .

"I'm hopeful," he said. "Say a little prayer. This is news to me too."

Jolie cited irreconcilable differences and listed their separation date as September 15. She is not seeking spousal support.

Pitt began dating Jolie in 2005 after starring in Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Their relationship followed his split from ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.

The actors secretly married in 2014.

Sources close to the couple claim the actress strongly disagreed with Pitt's parenting style. She reportedly became "extremely upset with his methods."
