The pressure on Ben Affleck to clean up his act to save his family has gotten too much and friends fear he’s on the verge of an emotional breakdown.

“Ben’s a shadow of his former self — bloated, down and completely torn over what to do,” a worried pal told Breaking Celebrity News.

As a result, Affleck’s wife, Jennifer Garner, 43, has agreed to put off their divorce negotiations until after he’s finished shooting Live By Night, the film he’s been obsessing over for the past four years.

“Jen’s been using the delay to try and fix things,” the friend said. “Ben can’t believe she even wants to give him another chance after how he’s behaved but she feels she should because of the kids.”

Despite her efforts, Affleck, 43, continues to withdraw, said the friend.

Still, “Jen’s hoping he can pull himself together, but even she admits she’s being very optimistic,” said the pal.

However, “He’s burnt her so many times and her friends are urging her to not give him any more chances,” added the friend. “He’ll never change and he doesn’t deserve it.”
