Kate Chastain’s domestic violence nightmare is moving toward an end, Breaking Celebrity News can exclusively reveal.
The Below Deck star was first charged with felony domestic violence by strangulation in June of 2016, but a Brevard County, Fla. clerk confirmed to Breaking Celebrity News that her case was downgraded to a misdemeanor last month.
Her courtroom battle began after her ex-girlfriend, Rocio Hernandez, told the police that Chastain attacked her during a drunken fight in their home. The incident happened after Hernandez filmed with Chastain for the Bravo show.
“Ms. Chastain went into a fit of rage and physically attacked Ms. Hernandez and tried to steal her phone,” the report obtained by Breaking Celebrity News read, later adding that Hernandez “was bitten on the forearm, inner bicep and leg. She was also held down and choked, ‘strangled.’”
“Ms. Hernandez also advised that she felt her airway close during the incident,” the report noted.
Hernandez also reported that Chastain "sat on top of her and lit a cigarette and continued to verbally abuse her" before "putting her knee on her head and pulling her hair."
The police then questioned Chastain, 33, at her home, and Breaking Celebrity News obtained shocking body cam footage of the moment she was arrested.
Now, Chastain is gearing up for the season 5 premiere of Below Deck — and for the end of her domestic violence hell. She isdue back in court on June 13.
