In the second day of the defense laying out their case, Casey Anthony laughed out loud during the questioning of her own “bug expert” witness on the stand.

Assistant State Attorney Jeff Ashton was cross-examining defense witness Dr. Tim Huntington, an insect expert, about a study he used where he placed pigs in the trunk of a car to emulate conditions in Casey’s car where the prosecution allege evidence of a decomposed body was found.

Ashton said that the pigs were not wrapped in blankets and bags the way Caylee’s remains were when they were allegedly placed in the trunk of the car.

“Why didn’t you wrap your pigs in a blanket?” that state attorney asked. Casey Anthony laughed at his question, the first emotion she has shown in days.

The state attorney also had Huntington admit that when he examined Casey’s car two years after Caylee disappeared it smelled and while he originally said it was the scent of garbage he admitted that there was not any trash in the trunk.
