In a campaign spearheaded by popular TV political analyst Jamal Simmons, actress Kerry Washington kicked off the "$40 for 40 Kids" social media fundraising campaign last week with a Tweet to her 70,000 followers.

The View's Sherri Shepherd and R&B star Marcus Cooper followed up in the effort to help raise awareness and money for The Rosa Parks Scholarship Foundation.

Simmons has lined up more than 40 celebs to use their social media presence to support the campaign, including CSI: NY star Hill Harper and Rosario Dawson.
