Amanda Knox's Tearful Homecoming: 'Thank You To Everyone Who Believed In Me'

It took four years and many tears shed. But American student Amanda Knox is home in Seattle at last and on her return Tuesday night, she was overcome with the kind of emotion that she only once could dream of, as she thanked her supporters for their support.
“I’m really overwhelmed right now,” the 24-year-old said at a packed news conference, just minutes after she was escorted off a British Airways flight out of London.
“I was looking down from the airplane and it seemed like everything wasn’t real.”
Cheers erupted as Amanda entered the room at the airport. She covered her mouth and bent over in a chair, sobbing at the recognition, holding her hands in prayer and mouthing 'thank you' to the audience of family, friends, close supporters and media.
Crying throughout impromptu speeches made by her lawyer and her parents Edda and Curt, the woman dubbed "Foxy Knoxy" was moved to tears by the well wishers.
"What's important for me to say is just thank you, to everyone who has believed in me, who has defended me, who has supported my family," she said, her voice notably shaking.
"My family is the most important thing to me right now and I just want to go be with them.
"Thank you for being there for me."
In her only acknowledgement to the four-year ordeal in an Italian prison, Amanda told the media conference she had been reminded "to speak in English, because I'm having problems with that."
