90210 alum Jennie Garth is speaking out for the first time about her surprising split, Twilight star Peter Facinelli.

Garth -- speaking with Access Hollywood Live on Tuesday about her new CMT series, Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country --  described her life as “hectic.”

“I wanted to move out of the city for a while and something inside of me said, ‘It’s time.’ I needed that sort of shelter, some things in my life have been transitioning. I just needed that,”  Garth said. The show follows her and her three daughters as they live on a seven-acre farm in California; Facinelli will not appear on the show.

“My life is a little hectic right now and my personal life is kind of crazy. This is what I need and what the girls need right now, so it’s perfect.” she said.

In a joint statement, Garth and Facinelli announced last week they were divorcing after 11 years of marriage.
