Reality television has long been accused of pushing moral boundaries, and a new show from NBC that sends celebrities into mock military missions has caused outraged among veteran groups who know the grim reality of real-life combat.

"I was speechless when I first saw this. People have to realize that war is not a game," Amy N. Fairweather, Director of Policy for Swords to Plowshares, told Breaking Celebrity News in an exclusive interview, when asked about the controversial show.

"The real warriors who go out there and come home from war don’t win a reality prize. They live with the consequences of being exposed to the dangerous elements they survived."

In NBC's latest Mark Burnett-produced venture that premieres on Monday, hosts Samantha Harris and retired General Wesley Clark send a motley band of stars -- including Nick Lachey, Dean Cain and Laila Ali -- to a remote training facility where they will be challenged to execute complicated missions inspired by real military exercises. Each contestant is to be paired with a military special operative, including former U.S. Army Delta Force and Green Berets, U.S. Navy SEALS, U.S. Marines and police officers.

"From helicopter drops into water to long-range weapons fire, the contestants will be tested physically, mentally and emotionally," explains the show's website.

While the cash prize they win will go to a veteran or military charity, the concept of the show is off
