Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson appeared in a Miami courtroom on Friday where he pleaded “no contest” to the domestic battery charges filed against him after he fought with his wife Evelyn Lozado llast month.

The former NFL player was somber in a suit with his lawyer in the courtroom as he entered the plea and avoided any jail time following his arrest for head-butting Evelyn.

He was placed on 12 months probation, ordered to take domestic violence awareness classes and the judge ordered Johnson to have no direct or indirect contact with his ex-wife, including “no email, Twitter, or text.”

Evelyn was not present in court, but the state’s attorney told the judge “she did not wish that he be incarcerated and she was fully aware of the terms of the plea and in agreement with them.”
