She’s a friend to the Kardashian clan and has been the face of morning news in L.A. for nearly two decades.

But now – in an amazing shake-up – Jillian Barberie has left her position as co-anchor of Fox’s Good Day LA. The 46-year-old Canadian confirmed the news on her Twitter page on Thursday, and insisted that she wasn't fired.

Barberie, who is also a NutriSystem spokeswoman, wrote: “Just informed I am no longer on @gdla. It’s been an amazing 2 decade run!

“I will always be grateful for the fun and opportunity!”

She also took to her blog on Friday to insist she was not fired but that she chose to leave after bosses tried to use her as a field reporter.

The mom-of-two, who worked alongside co-host Steve Edwards for 17 years, wrote: “I wasn’t let go as in ‘fired’.

“In fact, Fox was trying to find something for me to do a few times a week. But the truth is, I loved being on set. Teasing Steve, doing celebrity interviews and working off script and ad libbing sic…”

Barberie, whose husband Grant Reynolds appeared in the short-lived reality TV show Househusbands of Hollywood, said she didn’t think doing “segments from the field” was a “good fit” for her.

Edwards, 64, tearfully confirmed the news on Friday’s show.

Former TV Guide Network correspondent Maria Sansone will replace Barberie. Fellow co-host Dorothy Lucey who had also been on the show for 17 years was let go in May.
