Rather than complaining about her life being torn apart, Lauren Scruggs is celebrating the positive outcomes of her devastating collision with a small plane propellor.

Despite losing her left hand and left eye in the horrific accident last December, the 24-year-old claims that the "split-second encounter" made her a better person.

"I came to see how there was so much more to my life than being worried about how I looked," revealed Scruggs in her new  book, Still Lolo: The Inspiring True Story, which hits newsstands on November 15.

"I don't know why this is so hard, soldiers are dying in Afghanistan right now and I'm too chicken to do this one little thing," the model and fashion blogger wrote when divulging details of her struggles over the awkward painting and fitting of her fake eye and getting used to a prosthetic arm.

As Breaking Celebrity News previously reported, Lauren is lucky to be alive after walking into a plane propeller near Dallas, Texas, following a sight-seeing flight looking at Christmas lights. Lauren suffered injuries to her entire left side as well as a fractured skull, broken left collarbone and brain injuries.
