Ex-hooker Rebecca Dakin has gone public about her former career, exposing the ins-and-outs of the world's oldest profession, as well as the psychology of the men who support it.

Dakin, 37, spent nine years as a prostitute "dating" an estimated 900 customers before quitting the life to seek out a new path as an author, dating coach and infidelity expert.

"If your man is not asking you for sex anymore, it means he's seeking it elsewhere -- he's not going to accept being in a marriage without sex," Dakin said. "They are probably relieved that he's not hassling them and just decide to turn a blind eye.

"Everyone always hates the escorts, but you have to remember there are women are probably quite thankful that they're around."
