Amanda Bynes has tried out a number of careers since announcing she was "retiring from acting" in June 2010. She's been an aspiring clothing designer, a wannabe rapper and now, it seems, she has her sights set on becoming a ballerina.

Breaking Celebrity News has learned that Amanda is taking classes at New York's famed Ailey School -- or at least trying to!

On Monday night, July 8, the former Nickelodeon star showed up wearing a bedraggled blonde wig for the Advanced Beginner Ballet class at 7:30 pm.

"She was acting kind of 'off', just keeping to herself and kind of mumbling to herself," an eyewitness tells Breaking Celebrity News. "Everyone else was stretching and getting ready, but she was fumbling around with her bag."

Apparently, after watching her would-be classmates prepare, she thought better of her ballet aspirations and split. "She left before the class started," the insider confirmed. "I don't think the instructor even saw her."
