Garth Brooks suffered a legal setback in a lawsuit by an ex-employee who called him “paranoid, angry and deceitful” in seeking $425,000 in back wages, Breaking Celebrity News has learned exclusively.

Lisa Sanderson worked for Brooks for 20 years and says that he owes her $425,000 in unpaid bonus and salary, as well as punitive damages.

Brooks tried to move her lawsuit against him and one of his companies to federal court. But the singer was shot down Wednesday as the case was remanded to Los Angeles Superior Court.

“That a loss for Garth,” a source told Radar. “His argument was shot down by the court.”

Sanderson is pushing forward after the victory. She’s represented by Los Angeles top lawyer Marty Singer.

Her four-count lawsuit against Brooks paints an unflattering picture, indeed, of the star. She first worked for him in 1993 as Chief Executive Officer of his production company.
