The tragic passing of super star Talia Joy Castellano after her brave struggle with cancer gave her family a newfound mission to carry on her name but Breaking Celebrity News has exclusively learned that they’ve run into a controversial battle over the name of the brand that honors the late girl.
Talia became a household sensation after her makeup technique videos went viral and the nation mourned the honorary Cover Girl passed away on July 16.
To continue to share her memory, Talia’s family has been working to get her clothing line called The Bald Chick into majors stores but they found out that that name was already a registered domain owned by someone else and they weren’t willing to relinquish ownership.
TheBaldChick.com website is owned by a woman named Virginia Higgins and she became embroiled in a fight with Talia’s sister Mattia Castellano and other fans who were accusing her of trying to cash in on the little girl’s name.
The public relations company that has been working closely with Talia’s family was hopeful that they could continue to use the moniker The Bald Chick, but were unable to secure the naming rights because of the prior owner.
Higgins posted on her Facebook page that she was not going to give up her company name.
“For the record, I will not be "giving" MY website, thatbaldchick.com, or my username of @thatbaldchick on FB, Twitter, or Instagram to anyone. They've been mine since 2010 and will remain mine unless/until I receive a large lump sum for them.”
The outcry was swift, and Higgins claims that she has been using the names since 2010 and that she got a response online that said “At least your (sic) still alive.”
