Gwyneth Paltrow managed to smooth things over with Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Graydon Carter so a planned takedown piece on the Iron Man 3 actress has been softened — if it even runs at all, Breaking Celebrity News is reporting.

After an email from Paltrow asking her A-list friends to balk the magazine leaked online in Sept., Carter confirmed there was a blockbuster article in the works saying, "She sort of forced my hand."
