Brooke Mueller is resisting efforts to have her twin sons with ex-husband Charlie Sheen tested for fetal alcohol syndrome because she is terrified that if Bob  and Max are diagnosed with it, she will never regain custody, Breaking Celebrity News is exclusively reporting.

Breaking Celebrity News broke the story last year: Mueller finally agreed to have the boys tested for fetal alcohol syndrome because she went to rehab TWICE while pregnant and drank large amounts of booze before giving birth to the boys.

However, Mueller has now changed her mind and doesn't want the boys tested.

"Brooke is afraid that if the boys are diagnosed with fetal alcohol syndrome, she will never regain custody of the boys. She knows she is about to get the boys back, but fears she will never get them back if they do have it," a source told Breaking Celebrity News.

"Child protective services is actually very impressed with how far Brooke has come, and a FAS diagnosis absolutely wouldn't preclude her from getting them back. It was four years ago, and that can't be held against her."

Sources also tell Breaking Celebrity News, "Charlie wants the boys tested… However, he is still on good terms with Brooke....they just disagree on this."

Sheen is not expected to be in court on Thursday, while Mueller is.

“Fetal Alcohol Syndrome can cause problems that may include physical deformities, mental retardation, learning disorders, vision difficulties and behavioral problems, and heart health issues,” the Mayo Clinic, the world noted not-for-profit medical practice and medical research group, states.

Babies suffering from fetal alcohol syndrome often have small eye openings, small head circumference and brain size.
