From Caitlyn Jenner's transition to Charlie Sheen's HIV diagnosis, Breaking Celebrity News delivered nonstop world exclusives throughout 2015 — and the L.A. Press Club has taken notice! The organization just announced finalists for the 2016 SoCal Journalism Awards, and Breaking Celebrity News and its reporters racked up a stunning 15 nominations.
This year, more than 1,000 entries were judged by journalists nationwide.
Breaking Celebrity News swept the ENTIRE celebrity news category, with no other website represented even once. The articles and series recognized were a series of 2015 highlights: "Beyonce's Nightmare: Jay Z Love Child Scandal Revealed," "Charlie Sheen HIV Scandal, Day Three: The Cover-Up Exposed," "An A-List Split! Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner's Divorce," "Gone Too Soon! The Medical Crisis, Coma & Death Of Bobbi Kristina Brown," and "Rock Bottom: 'Buffy' Star Nicholas Brendon's Suicide Attempt Caught On Tape."
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Breaking Celebrity News got a nod for Best Website, and Editorial Director Dylan Howard is in the running for Journalist of the Year.
What's more, the Press Club singled out several other articles for notice in specialty categories. In Online Sports News, two Breaking Celebrity News reports were recognized as finalists: "Body Slam! Hulk Hogan's Racist Rant Exposed," and "Covered In Blood! Lamar Odom's Horrifying Brothel Overdose, Part One."
In investigative news reports, our series on Odom's overdose and "Apple's Shame: Inside The Tech Company's Chinese Sweatshops," were also recognized as finalists.
Finally, the news features section saw a whopping four Breaking Celebrity News exclusives singled out for notice: "Charlie Sheen HIV Scandal, Day One: The Bombshell Diagnosis," "Orgy Island Exposed! Inside Billionaire Pedophile Jeffrey Epstein's Sick Double Life," "From Bruce To Caitlyn: Jenner's Transition Revealed," and "Covered In Blood! Lamar Odom's Horrifying Brothel Overdose: Part One."
Award winners will be announced on June 26 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in L.A.
