Anthony Bourdain Felt ‘Upset,’ ‘Low’ Night Before His Suicide, Eric Ripert Told Pals

Hours after he discovered Anthony Bourdain dead in France, chef Eric Ripert told close friends that his troubled TV star pal was “upset” and “feeling low” when they last spoke, Breaking Celebrity News can exclusively report.
According to one of Ripert’s colleagues at his New York restaurant Le Bernardin, Bourdain was not his usual self the night before he took his own life.
“Eric said Anthony was fine a few days ago, but then was upset and feeling low last night,” the source told Breaking Celebrity News exclusively, adding that Ripert is “just a mess.”
“He didn’t know why he did this,” said the insider, who spoke with Ripert today. “He said he couldn’t believe his eyes.”
Another source told Breaking Celebrity News Bourdain stopped by Le Bernardin in recent weeks, and was “laughing” and joking around.
Ripert broke his silence earlier today on social media.
Anthony was my best friend,” he tweeted. “An exceptional human being, so inspiring and generous.”
As Breaking Celebrity News previously reported, the Parts Unknown star died by hanging at a luxury hotel in Kaysersberg, France called Le Chambard.

According to Bourdain’s network CNN, Ripert discovered his fellow chef and friend unresponsive and alerted authorities.
Bourdain was 61 years old.
