During her horrific relapse, Demi Lovato reached out to close friends before she felt like abusing drugs and alcohol, the troubled singer’s confidante and martial arts trainer of two years, Danielle Martin, told Breaking Celebrity News in an exclusive interview.

“She's called me when she's been vulnerable and about to use drugs,” claimed Jiu Jitsu pro Martin, who told Breaking Celebrity News she trained with the star the day before she overdosed this week. “She said ,'I'm about to do this, I'm about to do that.' I said, 'Thank you for calling me, I will be right there.'”

After Martin rushed to her side, she was often able to break the 25-year-old out of her destructive streak.

“We trained it out, we danced it out. We laughed it out, cried it out,” she explained. “And called it a night.”

As Breaking Celebrity News previously reported, Martin said there were “signs” something was horribly wrong with the singer the day before her overdose on Tuesday, July 24.

“She just wasn’t herself,” she told Breaking Celebrity News. “I noticed something was absent in her spirit. It was a feeling.”

“She’s not healthy, she’s just alive.”

Now, Lovato’s “devastated” friend is praying she takes her near-death experience seriously and finds recovery again.

“I believe she is strong enough to fight it. She survived yesterday because she is supposed to be here. And I hope that she wakes up and sees that and understands how powerful that purpose is — how much God is on her side and in her and wants her to be here.”

As Breaking Celebrity News exclusively reported, Lovato is expected to be released from a Los Angeles hospital today following a detox— and will promptly check into rehab for a longer-term treatment.

She previously celebrated six years of sobriety before admittedly falling into her addiction once again earlier this year.
