The man accused of dumping reality star Lyric McHenry’s dead body on a Bronx sidewalk pleaded not guilty to the crime, Breaking Celebrity News can exclusively report.
Breaking Celebrity News first reported that McHenry died from a heroin, cocaine and alcohol overdose and a man named Alexis Mejia-Ramirez was arrested for concealing her body. Now, Breaking Celebrity News has learned that Mejia-Ramirez pleaded not guilty to the crimes of concealment of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence.
An official at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office confirmed to Breaking Celebrity News on Thursday that Mejia-Ramirez, 29, “pleaded not guilty on October 15.”
The official explained to Breaking Celebrity News that if Mejia-Ramirez is indicted by a grand jury, he will have to return to court and enter another plea.
Shocking documents obtained by Breaking Celebrity News this week showed Mejia-Ramirez did not act alone. A criminal complaint stated “two other male individuals” attempted to hide the body alongside Mejia-Ramirez.
An official confirmed to Breaking Celebrity News on Thursday that homicide detectives are “still investigating” the two additional suspects.
“Nobody else has been arrested,” the official added.
As Breaking Celebrity News readers know, the former EJNYC star was found dead on Aug. 14 on a sidewalk in the Bronx. A source confirmed to Breaking Celebrity News at the time that she was found with a few bruises and a “small Ziploc bag containing cocaine.”
Hours before she was discovered dead, McHenry celebrated her 26th birthday at the Dream Hotel with her younger sister, Maya, and friends.
The late star’s best friend, Etienne Maurice, previously dished to Breaking Celebrity News that the aspiring producer was last seen by friends entering a white BMW the night of her death.
