A massive update in the manhunt for Brian Laundrie: Partial human remains have reportedly just been discovered in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park at Florida's Carlton Reserve.
Law enforcement sources told NBC News the human remains had previously been submerged underwater due to heavy rain at the 24,565-acre preserve in Sarasota County.
According to CNN, a medical examiner has responded to the area, and a cadaver dog has also been deployed.
Beginning Wednesday morning, on-scene reporters began noticing lots of FBI and state/local law enforcement activity – including the setting up of tents, placing of crime scene tape and arrival of mobile command centers – on the premises.

As Breaking Celebrity News previously reported, Laundrie's belongings were discovered hours ago at the heavily wooded park, just one day after officials opened the reserve back up to the public following its month-long closure due to the massive search for the only "person of interest" in the death of 22-year-old vlogger Gabby Petito.
Earlier today, Brian's parents, Christopher and Roberta Laundrie, were seen arriving at the scene. Photographers snapped away as the 23-year-old fugitive's mother appeared to wipe a tear from her husband's face.
"Chris and Roberta went to the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park this morning to search for Brian," their attorney, Steven Bertolino, told The New York Post. "The FBI and NPPD (North Port Police Department) were informed last night of Brian's parents' intentions and they met Chris and Roberta there this morning."
"After a brief search off of a trail that Brian frequented," he added, "some articles belonging to Brian were found. As of now, law enforcement is conducting a more thorough investigation of that area."
