Leah Remini and Jennifer Lopez were sitting ducks in New York City for private investigators allegedly hired by the Church of Scientology to follow the two actresses and real-life best friends.

According to leaked text messages, two ex-NYPD police officers were given the job of tailing the women in December 2017.
The messages are between retired detective Yanti “Mike” Greene and former cop-turned-private investigator Saul Roth.
Remini and J Lo were filming their movie Second Act when Greene and Roth were allegedly tasked to follow the women during their time in Manhattan.
Greene reached out to Roth first about the job, who replied by asking the ex-detective if he'd be paid his regular amount of $50 per hour.
That's when Greene insured him they'd be getting their “normal rate” working for International Investigative Group (IIG).

IIG was founded by polygraph expert Dan Ribacoff, who has a history of employing ex-police and private investigators.
When Greene told Roth their target was Remini, the former cop responded as if he didn't know the actress.
That's when J Lo came into the text conversation.
