Angelina Jolie is trying to play down her nasty divorce by shining a spotlight on her new film, Breaking Celebrity News has exclusively learned.

Jolie, 41, made a surprise appearance via video in Cambodia to personally introduce her new movie, First They Killed My Father, to locals. (The actress and director filmed several scenes in the city of Battambang, and hundreds of people packed a football field there to see it screened.)

Before introducing the movie, Jolie thanked the people of the city for their help in making it possible.

"I hope when you see it you are proud, and you see that for all the days and the chaos we brought, it was worth it" she said. "And know this

film was made for you, for Cambodia and by you, the extraordinary talent in your country."

As Breaking Celebrity News reported, Jolie recently spent a good deal of time with her children in Cambodia, even chowing down on some local favorites, like tarantulas and scorpions. Her producing partners, Netflix, picked up the reported $1 million price tag for the journey.

Meanwhile, her bitter divorce from Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt, 53, drags on. According to insiders, the latest hurdle is over what should happen to the couple's home in the south of France.

"She's wanted to sell that place for years, but he always managed to convince her to hold off," an insider explained to Breaking Celebrity News.
