After a brief period of sobriety, Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal’s son Redmond is once again “off the rails” following the death of a loved one, Breaking Celebrity News can exclusively report.

O’Neal — who was arrested for allegedly robbing a convenience store at knifepoint while possessing meth and heroin earlier this week in Los Angeles — was devastated after the passing of his close friend and attorney, Richard Pintal — and left without a mentor, a family insider told Breaking Celebrity News.

“Richard was always able to reel Redmond back from those times he lost his way,” the insider explained to Breaking Celebrity News of Pintal, who succumbed to cancer in 2016. “Richard would personally take Redmond to meetings, make sure he was working the steps, and encouraging his recovery.”

“Redmond doesn’t have anyone else in his life that did the things Richard did, sadly.”

Without Pintal, O’Neal stopped going to recovery meetings and spiraled out of control, the source claimed.

“Redmond was under the influence of drugs when he held up the convenience store,” the source insisted. “For all of the great work Richard did for Redmond in and out of court, it’s now time to recognize that he needs to be sent to prison for a very long, long time.”

Redmond, now 33, previously lost his beloved mother Fawcett to cancer in 2009.

He has a long history of legal troubles, and was last in prison for a year in 2016 stemming from a heroin-related arrest.
