Former Glee star and YouTube sensation Charice attempted to take her own life, Breaking Celebrity News is reporting, and her grandmother claims it's because of the financial strain the 21-year-old was feeling.

The singer's grandmother, Teresita Relucio, appeared on the local Filipino program Showbiz Police to confirm Charice's suicide attempt — by slashing her wrists — but gave no timeline as to when it occurred.
