Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez looked like the ultimate Hollywood couple when they arrived to the VMAs, and later, at their own exclusive after party. But a source close to the stars exclusively told Breaking Celebrity News that there was quite a bit of drama going on behind the scenes.

“J.Lo wasn’t thrilled that A.Rod’s ex-girlfriend, Madonna, was at the show,” said the insider. “She sat in silence when Madonna presented.”

Breaking Celebrity News readers know Madonna, 60, gave a bizarre performance honoring the late Aretha Franklin, and fans were shocked to see that the Queen of Pop was more focused on talking about herself.

Madonna and Rodriguez, 43, dated back in 2008, when the former baseball pro was still married to Cynthia Scurtis. In her divorce papers, Scurtis claimed that Rodriguez “emotionally abandoned” her and their children, and had various affairs. She added that his “affair of the heart” with Madonna was the “last straw.”

After the show, Lopez, 49, and Rodriguez left Radio City Music Hall to attend their own bash — and Madonna was nowhere to be seen.

“Jennifer had her bodyguard carry her award around all night. Literally, J.Lo’s award had its own security,” said the source.
