What feud? On the same day John Mellencamp claimed he has been on bad terms with ex-girlfriend Meg Ryan, an onlooker exclusively revealed to Breaking Celebrity News that the exes seemed friendly while hanging out in New York City.

"They were just talking," eyewitness Stephanie Forman told Breaking Celebrity News. "They seemed friendly and civil."

Forman, who snapped a photo of the exes smiling during their conversation, claimed there didn't seem to be any hostility.

"It definitely wasn't a heated conversation at all," Forman said. " I didn't hear or see anything that made it seem like they were angry or uncomfortable with each other."

On March 1, the singer told Howard Stern on SiriusXM radio how their relationship didn't end amicably.

"Oh, women hate me," Mellencamp, 65, said. "I loved Meg Ryan. She hates me to death. I think it's because I'm a child. I throw fits, I gripe, I complain. I'm moody. Every bad thing that a fella can be, that's me."

When Stern suggested Mellencamp call Ryan, 55, to end their feud, he replied, "I've done that. She just doesn't want anything to do with me. And I can't blame her."

Mellencamp added how his bad reputation also contributed to his feud with Ryan.

"I got labeled as 'Mellencamp is difficult to work with, can get volatile and start screaming.' Yes that can happen. That's why Meg Ryan doesn't like me. She would like to talk about me for a full half a second."
