Millionaire Kim Kardashian Paid Surrogate a Mere $68K: The Shocking Contract Exposed!
Sept. 3 2019, Updated 8:58 p.m. ET
Filthy rich Kim Kardashianās decision to hire a surrogate to carry and deliver her and Kanye Westās most precious cargo ā their third child ā may have ended up saving the reality star an insanely large chunk of dough!
Breaking Celebrity News got an exclusive look at the binding agreement between the Wests, their surrogate and the surrogateās husband ā and it turns out the stars forked over just $68K, which is pennies compared to the multi-million dollar empire the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is sitting on.
As Breaking Celebrity News reported, the Wests were in the room as their surrogate gave birth to their baby girl at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Jan. 15.
Kim, 37, and Kanye, 40, opted for a surrogate after Kim was told her own life would be at risk if she had a natural birth having gone through complications during her pregnancies with North, 4, and Saint, 2.
According to a contract viewed by Breaking Celebrity News, Kardashian and her rapper husband agreed to shell out a mere total of $68,850 to their surrogate āfor all discomfort, pain, suffering, and inconveniences, for pregnancy and pre-birth child support expenses and post-birth expenses.ā
The contract furthered that Kimye was responsible for paying āobstetrical, nursing, hospital and maternity care, pharmaceutical, pediatrics, or other costsā for the surrogate, as well as covering all āmedical expenses, fees, costs and services relating to the pregnancy and the birth of the childā that arenāt paid by the surrogateās insurance.
The surrogate is in her 20s and married with her two children of her own. Her parents exclusively told Breaking Celebrity News that sheās spent the week āat home restingā after delivering the newest Kardashian family member.
Included in the nearly $69k bottom line number, Mr. and Mrs. West agreed to purchase a life insurance policy or accidental death insurance policy with a face value of $350,000 and a cost ānot to exceed $600.ā
The Wests also were responsible covering $2,500 for the surrogate and husbandās legal fees, according to the document.
Of course, the agreement also covers the costs of some day-to-day necessities for the surrogate and her husband. Breaking Celebrity News can reveal the Wests, who reportedly sold their Bel-Air mansion last November for a whopping $17.8 million ā agreed to paying a āmonthly non-accountable expense allowanceā of just $200 per month for their surrogate!
And if that seems low, the fashion moguls made out like bandits when it came to supporting their surrogateās maternity wardrobe in comparison to their own designer collections. According to the contract, the surrogate signed off on receiving $800 āonceā from Kimye, who launched their first-ever kids collection together last year, for maternity clothes.
The contract also spells out in detail the costs Kardashian and her husband were not responsible for during the pregnancy. The items include hotel room service, TV shows, game rentals, gift shop purchases, mini bar expenses, bottled water, and alcohol āno matter who consumedā it during their travels.
Despite the stingy contract, a source close to the surrogate told Breaking Celebrity News that she didnāt agree to carrying the famous infant for a monetary gain and didn't once ask for more money!
āNeither she or her husband have asked for a nick more from Kim or Kanyeā said the source. āThey just wanted to bless someoneās family with the gift of a child.ā
While Kardashian is officially now a mother of three, the contract stipulated that if the surrogate were to have given birth to twins, Kimye would have had to fork up an $5,000 per additional child!
Of course, thereās still costs for the surrogate after the baby is born. The agreement explains that Kimye would allow for their surrogate to provide breast milk if emotionally and physically ableā and it would cost them a total of $250 for a one weekās supply of milk in addition to providing a breast pump.
The insider also confirmed that unlike Kardashian and West, the surrogate is an out-of-work stay at home mom. The agreement states that in the event her husband were to lose his job at any time during the contract, Kim and Kanye were off the hook for it.
āThe Intended Parents shall have no responsibility to pay the gestational carrierās husbandās lost wages under this agreement,ā it states.
Although low-balled by the A-listers, the insider dished that the source is a devoted fan of Kardashianās and her famous sisters.
āSheās watched all of the shows,ā dished the source. āKimās vanity was touched when she found out.ā
