He is set to star in one of the most anticipated films of the year.

But before he appeared in The Great Gatsby Leonardo DiCaprio was just a baby-faced 14-year-old desperately trying to win a role in the TV version of The Outsiders.

The 38-year-old hunk is just one of several top Hollywood stars featured in never-before-seen audition tapes, which are going on the auction block in Beverly Hills on Friday and Breaking Celebrity News has clips of the rare footage!

Three casting directors have dusted off their VHS tapes and given them to Julien’s Auctions as part of the auction house’s Hollywood Legends event.

Some of the gems include a nervous Brad Pitt auditioning for a role in the 1991 blockbuster Backdraft, which starred Kurt Russell and Robert DeNiro.

Golden-haired Brad was just one of three leading actors vying for the role of Kurt’s brother. Keanu Reeves also read for the part as did Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. who auditioned with director Ron Howard three times!
