In a disturbing twist, police now say a former Playboy centerfold pushed her seven-year-old son out of a 25th-floor window at New York's Gotham Hotel, before jumping to her own death.

It was previously believed Stephanie Adams jumped to her death holding onto her little boy.

But her son Vincent's death was ruled a homicide due to multiple blunt impact injuries to the boy's head, neck, torso, and extremities, according to the medical examiner, who closed the investigation on Monday, as Newsweek reported.

Adam's death, ruled a suicide, was also reportedly caused by multiple blunt impact injuries.

Adams, 46, was Playboy's Miss November in 1992. On the morning of May 18, she was found dead on the second-floor landing of the hotel, along with her son. Both died instantly from the fall.

The deaths come on the heels of a vicious divorce and custody battle between Adams and her estranged husband, Charles Nicolai, owner of Wall Street Chiropractic & Wellness in New York.

As the war between the exes raged on, the court denied Adams request to take her son to Europe to be with her new boyfriend.

Adam's attorney and friend, Raoul Felder, told NBC New York that the former model had been facing some "personal issues" due to the ongoing custody battle, but doubt that would have caused her to take her and her son's lives.

"It's one of the things that happened that's inexplicable," he said. "She submerged her life in that child's life."
