Tom Cruise Freaked Out After Feeling 'Persecuted' Over Scientology, Tell-All Claims

Tom Cruise will fight to the bitter end when it comes to defending his beloved religion, Scientology, even if it means meddling in other people's affairs!
According to Page Six, in the upcoming book, Leading Lady, Stephen Galloway's new biography on former CEO of Paramount Pictures Sherry Lansing, the author revealed a shocking feud that erupted between Cruise and Paramount's then president of production, John Goldwyn, in 2003.
"Only once did Cruise’s beliefs affect his professional relationships: during a confrontation with Goldwyn" the tell-all read.
The Mission Impossible star allegedly freaked over Goldwyn's divorce and custody battle with his Scientologist wife, Colleen Camp, believing that the former prez's public claim that the church was "being applied to alienate the affection" of his child was an insult to the organization.
According to Galloway, Goldwyn said Cruise had asked for an urgent meeting with him and Lansing.
"Tom got very upset because he thought I was launching a campaign against Scientology, and he felt I was persecuting him for his religion. Tom was rabid about it and said, 'It’s because of people like you that I have to ride in a bulletproof car and why I cannot practice my faith openly,'" Goldwyn revealed.
"But Sherry was amazing as an executive and a friend. She stepped in and saved the situation by saying, 'I’ve known John for years, and he isn’t a bigot. This is about his daughter,'" which calmed Tom down, he added.
Later, Cruise reportedly asked if Goldwyn had made his wife a settlement offer, saying "'Hold tight' . . . Within 24 hours we were done. Tom Cruise was responsible for bringing my divorce to a close. It is a great Hollywood story," Goldwyn said.
