In an explosive new interview, Larry King's ex-wife Julia Alexander King tells Breaking Celebrity News exclusively that both the talk show host and his wife Shawn were having affairs, and they both knew about each other's infidelity.

"Larry told me they both knew that each of them had others in their lives," Alexander King told Breaking Celebrity News exclusively. She has stayed in touch with Larry since their divorce and has spoken to him since the breakup.

"I never asked him and he never told me who his 'other' was, but he knew Shawn was having an affair with the baseball coach.

She practically flaunted it."

The baseball coach is Hector Penate, who recently admitted and detailed the affair. As Breaking Celebrity News has reported, Hector and Shawn began their affair after he was hired to privately coach the King boys in baseball in the summer of 2007.

"Larry is extremely heartbroken about breaking up the family," Alexander King adds. "He lives for those kids. That's why he didn't leave Shawn when he learned of her affair. He wanted so much to keep the family together."

Larry basically "made a mess" of parenthood with his older kids, Alexander King says. "He wanted to do things right with his sons with Shawn. That's why he hired Hector to be their private baseball coach. Baseball is one of Larry's passion and he loved the fact that his boys were good at it and enjoyed the game. He'd do anything for those kids."

Larry and Julia were married from 1989 to 1992. Julia was wife Number 6. Shawn is wife Number 7. She was an extremely successful businesswoman in Philadelphia, where they met and she still lives.

"Larry's appeal," says Julia, "is his intelligence and his humor. He has a wonderful sense of humor. We'd wake up laughing and go to bed laughing."

Julia wasn't laughing however, when the pair decided to divorce, largely because they were working in different cities. That's when Julia learned that Larry had lied on their marriage license application about the number of his ex-wives.

"It didn't come out until we were in discovery during the divorce proceedings," she says. "Larry thought I wouldn't have married him if I knew how many exes he had, and he was right."

The two later became friends again, Julia says, when Larry reached out to her when both her parents passed away.

"Larry doesn't have a mean bone in his body," Julia says. "He is a wonderful man in every area of his life except marriage. He just doesn't have a moral compass when it comes to women."

Alexander King says her ex is "hugely insecure," which is why he always has to have a wife. "His father died when he was about nine years old and he was largely raised by an aunt.

"He needs the security of knowing someone is there for him. The problem is, he has such wanderlust. He can't help keep himself from cheating."
