Eclipse took in more than $30 million in box office sales Wednesday, Breaking Celebrity News has learned, as the film's distributor Summit Entertainment said it surpassed the previous all-time record set by New Moon's $26.3 million debut last November for films opened with midnight screenings.

The movie, which stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, drew hundreds of die-hard Twilight fans who waited overnight from coast-to-coast to get the first glimpse at the third installment in Stephenie Meyer's wildly-popular Twilight series.
