The brother of slain Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen is scheduled to appear in a Santa Monica courtroom Friday morning seeking to be granted letters of special administration of his late sister's estate, Breaking Celebrity News has exclusively learned.
EXCLUSIVE DOCUMENTS: Read The Petition For Letters Of Administration
In documents filed with the Los Angeles County Superior court, Lawrence Cohen is requesting to be appointed as special administrator of Chasen's vast estate valued at more than $6 million dollars. Cohen is one of three living executors nominated in Chasen's 1994 will.
The petition for Letters of Special Administration filed by Cohen on November 30 states that he needs to be appointed special administrator for the estate because "the petitioner is in possession of the key to a safe deposit box held in the name of the decedent. Although the contents of the safe deposit box are unknown, it is suspected that a more recent executed will of the decedent may be contained in said safe deposit box since a new will was prepared for her in 2006."

In addition, Cohen notes that Chasen & Company -- the public relations firm owned by his late sister -- employs several employees and has contractual commitments which require immediate attention. The company represents numerous clients in the film industry and Cohen states that "Oscar Season" is extremely busy for the company and its clients require active representation during this time.
