Marathon negotiations have ended in fragile peace between ex Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen and his soon-to-be ex-wife Brooke Mueller, Breaking Celebrity News has learned.

The feuding pair struck a custody agreement over their twin sons Bob and Max late on Thursday.

"Brooke and Charlie have reached an agreement that resolves their differences," lawyers for Sheen and Mueller told Breaking Celebrity News.

"For the benefit of the children, the terms of their agreement will not be disclosed.

"They ask the public for privacy on this matter."

The resolution means the couple won't be in court on Friday, as was looming to be an option earlier Thursday.

Sheen, 45, was forced to surrender the 23-month old boys after his estranged ex obtained a restraining order against him.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge granted Mueller the order based on her allegations that Sheen was physically and verbally abusive.
