A male human head was found in a plastic bag on Tuesday afternoon near the Griffith Observatory in Hollywood and as the search for the body continues, Breaking Celebrity News has learned a severed hand has also been found.

"What we have is that we found a severed hand in the same vicinity as the head," Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Cleon Joseph revealed on Wednesday.

Joseph tells Breaking Celebrity News several police officers are continuing their search.

According to authorities, two female hikers — walking nine dogs — discovered the head in the popular Hollywood Hills tourist area when their dogs alerted them to it.

"Two dogs were playing with it, and that's when the dog walkers looked closer and realized it was a human head," Karen Rayner of the LAPD said.

"As the dog shook the grocery bag…the head fell to the ground," Commander Andrew Smith said.
