Adele will be the opening act for the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night, Breaking Celebrity News is exclusively reporting.
It will be the first time the British songstress has performed since having surgery on vocal chords five months ago. Adele is nominated for six awards, including album of the year, record of the year, and song of the year for her second album, 21.
Already a two-time Grammy winner, the red haired beauty "is very excited and nervous about her performance. Adele places so much pressure on herself, and always has tremendous anxiety about performing,” an insider tells Breaking Celebrity News. “Grammy producers have told her she can have back up vocals available that could be played during her performance, and she has flatly turned them down. Adele appreciates the gesture, and in no way were the producers suggesting that she lip synch, it would be used to enhance her performance, but Adele says she is making her comeback performance in her voice, live. Artists routinely have back up vocals on standby, but Adele won't be using any.”
This year's Grammys promise to be an electrifying evening with performances by Coldplay, Rihanna, and Chris Brown.
As Breaking Celebrity News previously reported, Brown is planning an entertainment extravaganza to blow the audience’s socks off! “Chris has been rehearsing non-stop for the performance,” a source close to the singer tells Breaking Celebrity News. “He wants to give the audience and his fans an over top the performance. Chris has put a lot of pressure on himself to deliver a memorable performance, and he will deliver, he always does.”
Brown is nominated for three Grammys.
The Grammys -- hosted by LL Cool J -- air live on CBS on Sunday night, 8/7 central.
