Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are splitting after more than five years of marriage, and Breaking Celebrity News is taking a closer look at the weeks leading to Friday's shocking announcement.  

Some red flags might have been raised last month when the couple was mysteriously apart for Father's Day. Suri spent the June 17 holiday with her father in Iceland, where he's filming the movie, Oblivion. A week later on June 24, Katie took Suri to see a film as Tom was still in Iceland.

In interviews on the promotional trail for Rock Of Ages, Tom downplayed any possible rift he might have had with his wife since November 2006.

He told Playboy in May of Katie: "She is an extraordinary person… Everything she does, she does with this beautiful creativity. She's funny and charming, and when she walks into the room, I just feel better. I'm just happy, and I have been since the moment I met her.
