Suspected ‘Batman’ gunman James Holmes will make his first appearance in a Colorado courtroom Monday, and Breaking Celebrity News will live stream the hearing, which is scheduled to begin at 9:30 am MDT/11:30 am EST.
Holmes, 24, faces dozens of charges in connection with the massacre at an Aurora movie theater last Friday that killed 12 people and injured 58, some critically, during a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises.
During the initial advisement hearing -- which is expected to be brief -- a judge will advise Holmes of the charges against him. Breaking Celebrity News will live stream the proceedings, starting at 9:30 am MDT/11:30 am EST.
It will mark the first time Holmes, 24, has been seen in public since early Friday morning, when he was arrested outside the theater just minutes after the mass shooting.
Holmes has been held in solitary confinement under no bond at the Arapahoe County Detention Center on suspicion of multiple counts of first-degree murder. He is described as being not cooperative and still maintains he is the ‘Joker,’ the notorious villain in the Batman series.
During Monday’s hearing, a public defender will represent him. Following court, the District Attorney will have 72-hours to file formal charges against the former doctorate student. He'll then have an arraignment to be advised of the formal charges filed against him.
On Saturday, authorities say the case is likely to stay in state court.
As of late Sunday, at least 17 people remained hospitalized, eight in critical condition.
