Openly homosexual actor Rupert Everett has caused outrage for controversial comments claiming gay men don't make "good parents," Breaking Celebrity News can reveal.

The My Best Friend's Wedding star came out of the closet 20 years ago in a daring move that opened doors for other gay actors, but in a surprising interview with Britain's Sunday Times Magazine he revealed that his mother, Sara Everett, "still wishes I had a wife and kids."

“She thinks children need a father and a mother and I agree with her,” the 53-year-old told the Times. “I can’t think of anything worse than being brought up by two gay dads.

“Some people might not agree with that. Fine! That’s just my opinion."
