Stephen Baldwin was arrested on Thursday in New York on felony charges for failure to file his personal income tax returns, Breaking Celebrity News has learned.

The Rockland County District Attorney states that Stephen, 46, didn't file his personal tax returns in 2008, 2009 and 2010 — which leaves him open to penalties and interest totaling more than $350,000.

"At a time when Rockland County and New York State face severe fiscal shortfalls, we cannot afford to allow wealthy residents to break the law by cheating on their taxes," Rockland County DA Thomas P. Zugibe said.

"The defendant's repetitive failure to file returns and pay taxes over a period of several years contributes to the sweeping cutbacks and closures in local government and in our schools. My Office will continue to investigate and prosecute those who cheat our tax system for their personal gain."

As Breaking Celebrity News previously reported, Stephen filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2009.

At the time, Stephen and his wife Kennya Baldwin owed $1.2 million on two mortgages in New York, roughly $70,000 to credit card companies and more than $1 million in taxes.
