MTV VJ Jesse Camp “has been depressed lately,” his sister told police when she filed a missing person report, the PIO for Riverside PD told Breaking Celebrity News exclusively.
“We did take a missing person report on July 19 from his sister who is out of state,” Riverside Police Department Spokesperson Ryan Railsback told Breaking Celebrity News about the 38-year-old former MTV star.
“His sister said he’s been depressed lately.”
Police were contacted by Marisha Camp, and according to Officer Railsback she said that they haven’t heard from Jesse, real name Josiah, for weeks.
“He had daily contact with his elderly mother and other family members would correspond with him, but they haven’t had any contact with him since the 11th or 12th,” he told Breaking Celebrity News.
“The sister said they called his phone and somebody answered eventually and told her Jesse gave them the phone and some clothes,” Officer Railsback told Breaking Celebrity News, explaining that the person she contacted said they were in Riverside, California.
“We don’t even know how true that is, that is just what she has been told.”
According to Officer Railsback, “There is no reason to believe this is suspicious,” and said the police department hadn’t “put anything out,” yet about his disappearance.
On July 19 Jesse was stopped by Fontana, CA police for a "pedestrian check" outside the local Sherwin Williams store. They determined he was in good condition and did not arrest him or detain him, Fontana PD Records Department confirmed to Breaking Celebrity News. That was the same day is sister reported him missing to nearby Riverside Police.
Jesse was homeless when he won the contest “Wanna Be A VJ” on MTV in 1998.
His sister posted a message on her social media account, according to The Blast, writing: “If anyone has seen or heard from my brother Jesse since Saturday, please, please, please reach out to me or ask him to call home!!! Thank you!!!!!” She also wrote: “Jesse was last seen in California last week but has not reached out to us yet. What he needs now more than anything is kindness and love … Please keep him in your prayers.”
