Wendy Williams 'Voluntarily Admitted' For A Psychiatric Evaluation To NYC Hospital

Wendy Williams was "voluntarily admitted" to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation after it was announced she had suffered from a breakthrough COVID-19 case, sources close to the TV host revealed.

As Breaking Celebrity News previously reported, the 57-year-old talk show host had been rushed to the hospital just hours after her team revealed she had been diagnosed with COVID-19 despite allegedly being vaccinated.

An insider now disclosed she was "voluntarily admitted" to the hospital in New York City after struggling with "mental health issues for some time."

Another source also claimed, "It has been a very difficult time for Wendy. She's a single woman with very few friends. She lost her marriage, her mom, and is living alone" before went on to add, "there is a lot on her plate."

The new premiere date for the show is now going to be on Oct.4 after being pushed from its original date of Sept. 20, 2021.

While her COVID diagnosis is reportedly asymptomatic, her team stated that she would continue being quarantined via their Instagram.

"While continuing her health evaluations, Wendy has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19, " the statement read. "To allow Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production abides by all SAG/AFTRA and DGA Covid protocols, we expect to begin the 13th season of The Wendy Williams Show on Monday, October 4th."
